Riding Safety Precautions
- Before riding on busy streets, thoroughly familiarize yourself with how to start a bicycle with an electric motor assist. You may start the bicycle unexpectedly, which may cause an accident.
- Be careful not to get your clothes caught in the chain while riding. You may fall and be seriously injured.
- Do not touch the sprockets, cogs, and chain with your fingers.
- If they get caught in the drivetrain, you may be seriously injured.
- Before riding the bicycle, make sure that the front and rear lights can be turned on.
Safety Precautions
- Before wiring or installing parts on the bicycle, remove the battery and charging cable. Failure to do so may result in electric shock.
- Avoid touching a drive unit that has been in continuous use for a long time. The surface of the drive unit will become hot and contact with it may cause burns.
- Clean the chain regularly with a suitable chain cleaner. The maintenance intervals depend on the usage and riding conditions.
- Never use alkaline or acidic solvents such as rust removers. If a solvent is used, the chain may break and cause serious injury.
- Follow the instructions in the manuals when installing the product.
- Use only genuine SHIMANO parts. If a component or spare part is incorrectly installed or adjusted, it may lead to component failure and cause the rider to lose control of the bicycle and fall.
