The Schwalbe MOTION Spike is the right choice for anyone who wants to ride reliably and safely in winter conditions. With up to 120 studs (in size 28), it offers good control on smooth, snowy roads. It is suitable for occasional commuting or trips in mild winter conditions. If you regularly ride on icy streets or are looking for maximum control, we recommend the MARATHON Plus Spike model, which has up to 240 studs and our highest level of puncture protection.

To get the most out of your Schwalbe MOTION Spike, make sure you have the right tire pressure. In dry conditions, you can increase the pressure slightly, as tires roll faster on paved roads. In rain, snow or ice, you should reduce the pressure a little to improve grip. Always check the maximum and minimum values ????listed on the sidewall of the tire. Each knob on the Schwalbe MOTION Spike has a grooved profile. These grooves provide additional grip, especially when cornering or braking. The tread also ensures good self-cleaning in slush. This allows you to ride with complete confidence on wet or snowy roads.
HOW TO PROPERLY RUN IN THE SPIKES
To ensure that your Schwalbe MOTION Spike tire serves you for thousands of kilometers on asphalt, ice or snow, you should - like all other Schwalbe studded tires - properly break it in. Run the tires in for about 40 kilometers on the road, avoiding sudden braking or acceleration. This will help the spikes settle in better and ensure lasting and reliable grip. If you lose any spikes, they can be easily replaced. We offer replacement tips or a complete replacement set including an insertion tool.
VISIBILITY
The MOTION tip has reflective stripes on the side. These provide better visibility in the dark and in adverse conditions for better traffic safety. In accordance with German road traffic regulations, they replace the classic reflectors on the tips.
